New School Year

The new school year is upon us here at Collingswood.  Such great things are in store for this year.  My courses will include: 6th Grade Art, Introduction to Art (7th and 8th grades combined), Digital Photography, Photojournalism, Art II, Art III, Art IV, and several students for independent study.  
I have about 5-6 high school students considering majoring in art in college, so there will be lots of college portfolio prep.  This year we are going to Los Angeles to visit with some of my college friends who work in the film industry.  We will also be working on a special project "Building Bricks of Friendship".  I co-wrote a grant along with my colleague, Regina Duke Smith.  We were awarded the NJEA HIPP grant and we will be working with students from the multiply-disabled middle school class to create self-portraits using LEGO bricks.  Right now, it is time to unpack all of these goodies from our supply order.
